Health and Safety

Health and safety come first at Camp Playland.

We have a nurse on staff daily to care for your kids.

Food Allergies

We ARE very sensitive to the health needs of our campers with allergies. Directors and nurses work with parents and staff to implement protocols to keep your child safe.  Each year, several of our campers have life threatening food allergies. In response to the needs of these children and in an effort to make their summer at camp a safe one, we ask that all of our camp families help us implement our Food Allergies Policy.

Hydration

Hydration is an essential part of your child’s overall health, especially on hot summer days full of activity. We have water available throughout our campus and at every activity including water fountains, 5-gallon water jugs, and water bottles.  Campers are also welcome to bring their own water bottles (just be sure to put your name on them).

Sunscreen

We recommend you apply sunscreen each morning, before your child gets on the camp bus.  Once at Camp we make sure sunscreen is properly applied after each swim period.  We suggest you send your camper with sunscreen in their bag, but don’t worry if you forget, our nurse’s office is stocked with sunscreen campers can use after swimming. For campers who are particularly sensitive to the sun, additional sunscreen can also be applied during the camp day.

Bugs and Ticks

We recommend you apply bug spray each morning, before your child gets on the camp bus. Please do not worry about packing bug spray in your camper's backpack. We spray our campus for ticks and bugs to keep campers healthy and safe.
