Theater Camp is Back and Better than Ever!

Interested in honing your child’s singing, acting, and dancing skills? Looking to build their self-confidence and stage presence? Looking for a safe, nurturing, and fun environment?  Well then, this exciting program is the one for you!

Playland Performing Arts Theater Camp was a huge hit last summer, and we are making it even better for 2019. We will run two theater groups simultaneously, a 1st-3rd grade group and a 4th-8th grade group. This change will allow us to develop the program, the rehearsal materials, and the production to fit the needs and skills of each age group.

Not interested in the limelight, but love the arts? There are also opportunities in the Theater Camp this year to learn about stage management and assist in all the behind the scenes elements of rehearsal and production.

Time spent with peers, developing skills you are passionate about, at an age appropriate level, will enhance our Performing Arts Camp tremendously for 2019. We can’t wait for you to join us on the journey!

Best of Both Worlds

Playland Performing Arts Theater Camp offers the best of both worlds for your girls and boys. Not only will your children have loads of fun doing what they love most—singing, dancing, and acting—in this specialized program, they get to do it outdoors, in the summer sun! Theater Campers also enjoy the benefits of our Playland Summer of Fun Program, swimming twice each day, with lessons, and visiting Playland’s unique adventure activities including Archery, Ropes, the Discovery Den and more each week.

Lights! Camera! Action!

Theater Campers will work together over the course of two weeks to put on a musical production.  Every day campers will have 90 minutes of rehearsal, 40 minutes working on stage crafts (costumes, props, and sets), 90 minutes of swim time (including lessons), and 40 minutes of an adventure activity. At the end of the session, Theater Campers will perform on the drama deck for the entire camp during the day, and will be invited back, after hours, for a special parent performance.
